The reason I created this blog is mainly to help me document my efforts of setting up a new Rails3 application. The goal of the project is to introduce myself to the new cool features of the upcoming Rails release, while simultaneously trying how some of the most useful gems play together with the reworked framework.

In order not to get lost in some unexpected quirks, I will be developing an application under Rails 2.3.4 and trying to repeat the steps in Rails 3.0.pre. This means I will also try to get some Rails3 features working on Rails2. Hell, I might even submit some patches to the most popular gems!

The mysterious application would be a Highrise clone, one of the best lightweight CRMs available. I have not decided yet how much of my code I will present publicly, however, all configuration/installation will be documented here.
